The design of a new and large residential dwelling house in Burwash for a private client, following the demolition of an existing catastrophically fire damaged home.
This home was featured on a prestigious home design magazine cover. It was designed to fulfill an individual set of client requirements and represents some of Bernard’s and Paul’s best work, it proved to be one of their most enjoyable projects. Built in the heart of rural Sussex, in the small sleepy town of Burwash, this project was just a stones throw away from Bernard’s farming family roots.
Using the dwellings elevated position, Bernard set about framing views of the rolling Sussex Weald countryside and its ancient Churches, using carefully positioned, large full height glazing. The inclusion of a wrap around first floor terrace provided the perfect spot to watch the sun set.
